Douglas Johnson - Mayor

Douglas “Doug” G. Johnson was elected to the position of Mayor of the City of Bryan in November 2001, taking office January of 2002.

A long time Bryan resident, Doug graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University, A Master of Education from the University of Toledo, and obtained a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Toledo.
Before seeking the office of Mayor, Doug spent 34 years in education, including 15 years as Superintendent at Central Local Schools, 5 years as Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and 10 years Principal at Bryan High School. He also managed Gorny Winzeler Store in Bryan for three years gaining experience in business/retail. Doug is also a past President of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Doug Johnson is on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Municipal Electric Assoc., a member of North West Ohio Mayors Assoc., Ohio Assoc. of School Principals, Williams County Workforce Invest Act Board, Buckeye Assoc. of School Administrators, Ohio Municipal League Board, Board of Directors of Maumee Valley Planning Board, and the WEDCO Board.

Doug and his wife Donna are the parents of three daughters, Dawn (Tim) Smith, Dana (Bryan) Pyles and Denyse Johnson. They have six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Doug and his wife Donna are members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan.



Tommy Morr - Ward 1


Tommy began his term as council member on January 1, 2006. A graduate of Fayette High School and Vietnam veteran, Tommy has been a Bryan resident for 37 years. Tommy is the sales and service manager at TruFast Corporation, and is active as a high school official for basketball and football.

Tommy and his wife Janis have two sons, James (Terri) and Andrew (Laura), both of Bryan. They have five grandchildren, Ian, Evan, Alex, Margo and Tara.

Tommy and his family attend Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan.




Richard Hupe - Ward 2


Rick began his term with an appointment to Ward 2 on March 4, 2013. He has been a Bryan resident for more than twenty-five years. A member of Four County Career Center Endowment Committee , and member of the Bryan Historic Homes Association, Rick and his family attend St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bryan.

Rick is married to Christina, a teacher in Montpelier and they have two sons, Bryson and Ethan. A former business owner, Rick currently is an administrator at Four County Career Center where he supervises courses involving manufacturing, public safety and automotive technologies. Rick currently works closely with business and industry both in his job and as a member the Northwest Ohio Development Consortium.



Keith Day - Ward 3


A long time resident of Bryan, Keith began his term January 1, 2006. He worked at Spangler Candy Company for 6 years, ARO Corporation for 6 years, and 31 years for Montpelier Schools as a teacher and coach, retiring in 2002. Keith has worked for Bryan City Schools as a part time bus driver, coach and substitute teacher. He now works part time as a test administrator for NEAP.

Keith has B.S. and M.S. degrees from BGSU and is active in community theater with both Fountain City Festival and Williams County Community Theater. He is a member of the Bryan Moose Lodge and Bryan Lions Club.

Keith and his wife, Trudy, are active members of the Trinity Luthern Church of Bryan. They have two married sons, Scott and Frank and a daughter, Tiffany and four grandchildren.



Judy Yahraus - Ward 4

One of the newer members of Bryan City Council, Judy began her term in January of 2016.  She has lived in Bryan since she was in the second grade.  For 56 years she was married to her husband, Bill, who passed away in 2013.  They have three sons: Brad (Sherry), Jeff (Jane), and Dan (Dottie); with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Judy has been a piano teacher in Bryan for 49 years and an organist at some Bryan Churches.  She is currently volunteering as organist at The First Church of Christ, where she is a member.




Carrie Schlade - At Large

Carrie began her term on January 1, 2016.  Carrie is a graduate from Ayersville High School and Northwest State Community College.  Carrie is married to Joshua, owner of Montpelier Chiropractic Center.  They have 3 children, Lily, Eli and Emma who attend Bryan City Schools.  Carrie has been a resident of Bryan for 8 years. 

Carrie is a former member of Bryan City Schools PTO, Bryan Planning and Zoning Commission and is a former employee of the Bryan City Attorney.

Carrie is an active member of Bryan Civic League, Bryan Soccer Association and the Williams County Central Committee.  She also sits on the CRA Board for the City of Bryan.

Carrie and her family are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan.
